Bob Greenberg has added a nice video of Chinma to his Brainwaves Video Anthology, a collection of short videos by some of America’s leading educators.
Chinma Uche is a Math and Computer Science (CS) teacher at the Academy of Aerospace and Engineering (AAE) and the Greater Hartford Academy of Math and Science (GHAMAS). She is the 2015 CREC Teacher of the Year. She has been at GHAMAS since 2002 and has taught Algebra I, Algebra II, PreCalculus, Advanced Math, AP Calculus AB. As a CS teacher, she has taught AP CS A and the defunct AP CS AB. She has been a pilot instructor for the new AP CS Principles course the College Board is developing. She participated in Pilot II, Pilot III and is currently involved in the Phase II pilot of CS Principles course. Chinma is a graduate of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka and holds a Ph.D from Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine, London. In her spare time, Chinma advocates for CS education for all K-12 students. She is currently the President of the Connecticut Chapter of the Computer Science Teachers Association. She is a co-PI to a CE21 project, “Using Mobile Learning to Teach CS Principles in Connecticut Schools”. Chinma is also a member of Computer Science Advocacy Leadership Team (CSALT). She enters teams into the Moody Mega Math Challenge, the Technovation Challenge and supervises the CS Programming team which participates in programming contests within and outside the state of Connecticut. Chinma has been an AP CS A reader since 2006.
