Concurrent Enrollment
Q. What is concurrent enrollment?
Concurrent enrollment (CE) courses are college-level classes offered within high schools and taught by qualified high school teachers in association with a local community college or university. Sometimes they are also referred to as dual enrollment or college-in-the-schools programs.
Q. How many credits are offered for students?
For Minnesota Students: 4 credits
For Connecticut Students: 3 credits
Q. Are there any requirements for students to participate in concurrent enrollment?
Minnesota students must be juniors in the upper 1/3 of their class or seniors in the upper 1/2 of their class, however, teachers can request exceptions for students. We encourage you to do this for students to ensure that the demographics of the course match the demographics of your course.
Connecticut students can only enroll in the College Career Pathways program in their sophomore, junior, or senior years.
Professional Development
Q. When and where is the PD?
Southwest Minnesota State University will offer their CSP-Through-CE PD on June 14 – July 16, 2022. The final day presentations will be on July 30, 2022.

Q. What does the PD include?
The Mobile CSP PD is a year-long program in which teachers are organized into small (10-12 person) cohorts led by a PD Facilitator. It consists of completing a PD course (e.g. a four week summer online PD course) plus a mentored PD experience during the school year.
Q. How often do participants meet during online PD?
Teachers participating in the online professional development are required to attend an orientation about a month before the PD begins and then attend regular weekly meetings during the summer. PD Facilitators will be hosting 3 to 4 meetings per week and teachers are recommended to attend at least 2 of them, but are required to attend one. The exact days and times of the meetings are usually determined as a group during week one of the PD.
Q. Are there certain times that I need to work on the PD? What scheduled activities are teachers expected to complete?
With the online training, there are no required in-person meetings unless otherwise specified by the host. However, teachers must attend at least two weekly virtual meetings with their PD Facilitator and cohort. The PD lessons can be completed at each teacher’s leisure before the due date. PD Facilitators are available throughout the PD to provide ongoing support and asynchronous communication.
Q. What will be covered during the PD?
In the online and hybrid format, teachers will work with a PD Facilitator to complete predetermined assignments and a pacing guide. With both formats, teachers are provided a set of lessons and units that they will work on before the deadline. Teachers will work through the student materials to learn and experience exactly what their students will in the course. The student material lessons are supplemented with review of the teacher materials. Participants in the PD are expected to complete the assigned student lessons and reflect on the teacher materials. During the weekly meetings with the assigned PD Facilitator and cohort, teachers will discuss the lessons, units, and best practices they have learned. The PD Facilitator’s role is to support and lead teachers through the course and help guide them through the lessons. Eligibility
Q. What are the teacher requirements to participate?
All teachers are required to complete the summer Mobile CSP PD and participate in the PD support during the academic year.
For Minnesota Teachers: Minimally, related teaching experience or related coursework is expected. See the College Now website for details; note that, beginning in Fall 2022, College Now teachers will need to have a masters degree (in any discipline) to teach this course.
Q. I am offering the CSP course in the 2023-2024 academic year. Can I still participate in the 2022 PD?
We would prefer that you let us know you are interested now, but have you sign up for the summer 2023 PD. This will allow you to have the full year-long PD experience.
