Counselors for Computing Events

C4C Counselors for Computing ncwit.org/c4cMobile CSP has teamed up with the Counselors for Computing program to offer two workshops to school counselors in Minnesota and Connecticut. NCWIT Counselors for Computing (C4C) provides professional school counselors with information and resources they can use to support ALL students as they explore computer science education and careers. Learn more about C4C and resources you can use to support students in computer science courses!

During the workshop, you will:

  • Try your hand at coding
  • Learn about career prospects in this fast-growing sector, and why employers want a large and diverse talent pool from which to draw
  • Learn about changes in computer science education in your state, including:
    • Local computer science education initiatives that lead to more course offerings
    • What new courses are like, and how they count toward graduation and preparation for post-secondary pathways
    • Why computer science is a fundamental literacy, no matter what your students’ plans
  • Receive a virtual reality headset and seat hour certificates
  • CEU Credits will be for attending the workshop
